Symptoms of prostate cancer - the benefits of early diagnosis

Prostate cancer is usually slowly progressive cancer and symptoms often do not appear for many years. If cancer is detected early, may not show any visible symptoms. Some people, however, experience symptoms that might indicate the presence of prostate cancer. It can:

• The need to urinate frequently, especially at night
• Difficulty beginning urination
• The flow of urine is weak or interrupted
 • Pain or burning during urination
• Difficulty with erection
• Pain during ejaculation
• Blood in the urine or semen
• Recurring pain and stiffness in the back, hips or thighs

Sometimes the early signs of back, hip or pelvic pain caused by cancer that has spread. It is important to note that the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancer) is the same and may include any of the following symptoms:

• Difficulty beginning urination
• Frequent urination, especially at night
• Pain when urinating
• Blood in the urine

In addition, men who are older than 50 years often have non-cancerous enlarged prostate because of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlargement.

So, if you notice any of the above symptoms should consult a doctor for investigation. But keep in mind that most of the advanced prostate cancer can be treated consistently and very efficiently.

Early diagnosis of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer can often be detected at an early stage by measuring the amount of prostate specific antigen (PSA). Prostate cancer can be detected in the early doctors who carry out examination of the rectum (DRE). Because the prostate gland is located near the rectum, a medical physicist can detect if there are signs of prostate cancer.

Unfortunately, the PSA test and digital rectal examination is not entirely accurate and convincing. This can lead to anxiety and confusion, or even a false sense of security. Therefore, the important things to consider age, health and overall lifestyle. If you are young and suffering from prostate cancer, if not detected early, it can shorten battery life. However, if you are elderly or poor health, it is possible that prostate cancer has not become a serious problem, due to the slow nature of growth.

American Cancer Society recommends that men begin with prostate specific antigen (PSA) and digital rectal examination (DRE) annually after 50 years. They are at higher risk, including African-Americans and those who have close relatives who developed prostate cancer at an early age is recommended to start testing at 45.

The prognosis for patients with prostate cancer increased significantly in recent years. The past twenty years, the overall survival in all stages of prostate cancer increased by 67% to 97%. Therefore, more people are living longer after diagnosis. Very likely this is due to early detection programs, public awareness, in particular, prostate cancer symptoms, and the receipt of a healthy lifestyle.

Modern treatment options for prostate cancer

There has been significant progress in the treatment of all cancers in the last twenty years, but for prostate cancer, especially because it is rather a slow evolution, especially in the early stages.

This requires that detected in its early stages. If diagnosed early, there are nearly 100% probability of survival of at least five years, but full recovery is also common.

I hope what I write below is reliable, but this is my interpretation of the research I've done. I am not trained in medicine if you are interested in one of the following treatments, please do your own research, not my confidence.

The probability of survival as the basis for another five years for different variants are the most common cancers: pancreatic cancer - 4%, liver cancer - 7% of esophageal cancer - 14%, cancer Lung - 15%, ovarian cancer - 53%, bladder cancer - 82%, breast cancer - 87% of testicular cancer - 96% and prostate cancer - 98%.

Actual figures above vary slightly from one country to another and from one survey to another. A major reason for the high success rate of detection of prostate cancer. Men are tested for prostate cancer more often these days, so it is diagnosed earlier also.

Everyone has heard of chemotherapy because he used to be the standard treatment for all cancers threaten life. Chemotherapy has many unpleasant side effects, one of which was for hair loss. Chemotherapy is used only in cases where else should be in place today.

Chemotherapy is usually only used now if the cancer has spread beyond its place of origin - the prostate gland. Metastasis is the spread of cancer. If it has metastasized, the patient may have secondary growths in the bladder, lungs, spine and other bones. Chemotherapy is the fastest way to bomb the blanket around the body and fight against all cancers while.

Radical prostatectomy is the removal of the prostate through the peritoneal entire area between the penis and anus. The removal of the prostate may be necessary if solutions or other hormonal and have not worked and the cancer has not spread.

Cryotherapy is the use of gel to kill the tumor locally. Cryotherapy is often used if the patient can not undergo hormone treatment or radiotherapy. Some people prefer to deal with cryotherapy that surgery too.

Cryotherapy is performed by inserting the probes through the skin and cancer. The probe tips and then freeze the cancer. Cryotherapy can be used in conjunction with other types of treatment or on its own, but this is true of all resources.

Is common for a patient to undergo several different types of treatment at the same time or one after the other, so that the cancer is attacked by a number of addresses at the same time. This strategy also means that the body does not suffer too much of a form of therapy.

Cryotherapy is a relatively new treatment and there are also modern external beam therapy. The proton beam radiation has been practiced for 50 years, but the neutron beams are newer variations.

The truth about cures for prostate cancer

Each year, only the United States, approximately 185,000 men are diagnosed with some degree of prostate cancer. These new patients are added to the approximately five million already diagnosed with the disease.

Approximately 28,000 of these five million people die each year. Therefore, the number of men with prostate cancer in the United States increases every year, although some patients are "completely cured" as well. The question is: what does "fully healed means?

In an article this size can not be cited, but not in depth the issues raised. These conclusions are also mine, but I have to do after my own research.

However, I am not a doctor so I could have made errors of interpretation. If you are interested in the subject of this article, please do your own research or ask your doctor.

The first thing to say is that prostate cancer is a cancer and all cancers are very serious. It is obvious, but I needed to say. There is no cure for what we call cancer, both cancer cancer of the gum, lung cancer or prostate cancer.

You can not go to a pharmacy, a doctor bedside, or even an operating room and go to the cancer completely healed. Having said that people do survive cancer and one of the easiest to overcome is the prostate cancer. However, it should be noted that there is complete healing.

There are several methods of treating prostate cancer and stop or slow the growth of cancer usually depends on a combination of remedies. Fortunately for men, prostate cancer is a cancer of the slower growth, particularly in the early stages.

It is necessary to detect cancer in its early stages, so doctors will have a good chance of defeating it. However, victory is in this context means giving the patient a reasonable chance of living another five years of the hospital.

Prostate cancer is one of the easiest to beat, and about 90% (some say 98%) of patients live more than 10 years after treatment. Like many men who get the disease are anyway (60-70 years), which puts them at the base of what will probably die of something after 10 years anyway.

This makes the period of 10 years of good health is mentioned by some as a cure, but all doctors warn their patients to maintain frequent checks because you never know with cancer - may return.

Doctors can kill cancer cells or finishing, but do not know why they form in the first place, so that you can not help but return. In this regard, no cure surgery alone. You can not take a pill to make it go as if they could, with a headache.

However, remarkable progress has been made in the treatment of prostate cancer and may not be long before more progress is made and when they understood how to cure cancer, maybe the ideas and methods will be used in other cancers.
